Nope. Those type teams were the exception. A few years ago I thought they could have competed....but na. I've been enlightened in the last three years. 6A and 1A/2A ain't the same ballgame. It's a whole 'notha level.

There is even a huge gap within 6A. The teams at the bottom are nowhere near the teams at top. I guess tiers is what you would say.

At the moment Sonny Moore has TC ranked 94th in the state which is better than 19 teams in 6A. I believe it too some of these 6A teams would lose to a handful of smaller programs. I think if you took Lebanon and TC and swapped schedules they might both still have close to the same records.

I hear this years Greenback team is loaded. Could they beat 2/3 of the teams in 6A?... maybe. Could you combine the 1A/2A All State teams and beat the likes of Maryville, Oakland, Whitehaven etc? I'm not so sure.

I said competed, not win championships. I believe those teams could have competed with low to middle of the pack 5a schools.

Gotta get it together then before playoffs. I haven't seen Tyner play but I'm sure they are as good or better than Whitwell. And gotta hold them at bay to get another shot at Watertown. The 2nd half TC team was exciting to watch. They really tried hard and so many chances to  put it away last 5 minutes of the game just have to be able to execute when the game is on the line. Considering how much time he spent away not sure passing the ball with him was a great idea. That's just my opinion. I think that interception was the turning point in the game as you all TC had momentum.
