Hardin Valley put a 2nd half beat down on D-B last year to win going away. I'd guess that it may depend more on what Hardin Valley has returning than anything, unless they make a really bad coaching hire. I'm still going with anywhere from 3-7 to 5-5.

This is R1/6A, so what are DB's chances to get to the playoffs?   I will be absolutely shocked if the Tribe does not make the playoffs this year.

I'm not sure why you'd be shocked if they didn't make it. They didn't make it last year and lost a ton of offensive production off that team. I think making the playoffs will come down to other teams taking steps back more than it will D-B taking steps forward, but I have no idea what those other teams lost.

MoWest and JeffCo will be slam-dunk wins, so I think the way it works is that DB only has to beat one more R1 opponent and then they are in the playoffs?

I could see anywhere from 3-7 to 5-5. They lost arguably the region's best RB and several other really productive players. There's not a lot in the pipeline either, as both middle schools have really struggled.

DB is finished as a "Football School". Two wins this year max. Really bad coaching in the middle schools has resulted in the kids loosing interest. I think Sevier and Robinson won one game each last year. I can't remember that ever happening. The coaching staff at DB isn't much better. Players are transferring. Got word yesterday that two "would be" starting linebackers are transferring to South. Three years from now DB won't even be able to beat Volunteer. Clark and "The Good Ole Boys" built this. Never forget that.

Ten years ago would you of ever thought you'd be discussing if DB would "make the playoffs" ?

Guys, everybody calm down.   Yes, the program at DB is down, but this year will be no worse than 5-5.   I know that is not acceptable when you look back at recent history and see 10-0 or 9-1 seasons, but it will still be a winning season, or at least break-even.   All schools go through a down period at some point.

So what you are telling me is DB will be a better football team than they were last year when they went 4-6?  They lost the Bulk of their offense to Graduation or Transfers and the D hasn't been relevant in years it seems like.  You are way more optimistic than most football fans that have seen them over the last few years and know what they have returning

You have to remember that there are 2 Tri-cities teams (besides the Hill) on the 2019 schedule.  That has not been the case since 2014, so this year's schedule is easier than last year and will help pad some wins.  5-5 is realistic.
