Very few high school 1A programs would schedule a 5 or 6A program during regular season.  I don't see how that would help your program.  TC scheduling Lebanon  was no surprise to me.  I had TC picked to beat Lebanon both years because I knew a little bit about both programs and this is Lebanon's first year to be competitive in a long time.  I wouldn't put our program up against Cookeville.  What can you gain from that ?

Monterey scheduled Cookeville first game for about 4 years. It was a great gate due to both teams in same county but they absolutely crushed us every year! I don't think Scheduling a 6a helps especially when Cookeville was like they was last year.

Jackson, Cascade and ER are all region games for TC. Marion Co is playoff game that's not scheduled and FC are the defending state champions in the small private classification and where on a 15 game winning streak and Whitwell would have mercy-ruled Gordonsville for past two years and yes they are always a good team that makes the playoffs everyone that keeps up with football knew that they would be good and why would TC play Megis and Tyner when we have to play them in the playoffs if TC wins the next game will be against Tyner

The reason I said that was because we were asked why we didn't play better teams outside of our region and our defense was the same as yours.  Why would we play a team that we will meet in the playoffs ? Read some of the old post on this thread and you would see why I said that.

Didn't gordy play Fayetteville in playoffs a couple of years ago?

His dad was a coach. He transferred with his father I believe.

I know it was a possibility both were coming to TC at one point. We would have gladly taken them. The boy is not only a good QB but is an excellent punter.

I did not understand why the coach would leave after going to state in baseball? So I asked . I was told by a great source that the QB son did not want to play for the new coach. That was why both left.

TC also scheduled Gallatin. That was a huge moneymaker for both schools.

TC played Jackson Co. !!!  & Macon (5-5) Cascade (3-7) East Robinson (5-5) and playoffs vs Marion Co. (3-6).  You barely beat friendship, lost to H2O (who G'ville also plays) and got beat by Lebanon.  Yes, Lebanon is larger school and I commend you on playing them but I really don't think that your schedule is that superior to other programs.  Oh, by the way you got beat by Whitwell.  Whitwell is a Class 1A team with a lot of talent but I guarantee you that when that game was scheduled TC was expecting to come off with a big win and they were not playing them because "it's good competition and it will make us better".  You talk about us, why doesn't TC play Alcoa, Tyner, or Meigs ?

Well coach, we did try to schedule Alcoa when Creasy was at TC. We just couldn't get the same date open. It is hard to do when you are in an 8 and9 team region. Tyner is a long road trip.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
