ShadRaoch is back,

Can cockroaches fly?

Many species of cockroaches have wings, but not all are good flyers. In fact, most cockroaches do not fly at all.

There are several species capable of flying short distances and a number of other species – including American cockroaches – that use their wings to glide from high elevations to lower surfaces.

Male Pennsylvania woods cockroaches and smoky brown cockroaches are both strong flyers. Australian, Asian and Cuban cockroaches are also capable of flight, but none of these could truly be labeled flying cockroaches.

Once Again, sir your facts are bit off! However, you may be someone not close to the program.... But, yet again, you may be deflecting the opposition down the wrong path!

Riddle me this:

I never was, am always to be,
No one ever saw me, nor ever will
And yet I am the confidence of all
To live and breathe on this terrestrial ball.

I am still wondering who thought it would be a good idea to schedule Maryville for the first game.

The very first game William Blount played was against Maryville in 1979 40 years ago at WB which the Rebels won 17-0. If a bunch of boy's from Friendsville and Lanier and a few skallywags left over from Everett weren't afraid to take on Maryville the very first game then why should this group be. If Maryville ends up being the toughest game then get it over with and it gets easier from there.

17-0 Maryville? That sir would be considered an upset by WB this year!!! Sounds more like the box score for the first quarter nowadays.

Back then the game was built around defense completely and so many rule changes have happened over the years that it's not even the same game as it used to be. That Maryville team went to the AA Championship that year and lost in the last minute when driving the ball deep inside the other teams side and fumbled the ball over on a sure bet drive. The player that fumbled the ball had went to Lanier the year before  and smashed every record in the books there but somehow ended up at Maryville which made all the natives pretty mad at William Blount. Maybe that fumble was WB's Karma in the end.

Buster Smith. The Lanier RB that set the state record his Jr. year . I remember how upset all the Class of 80 was about having to go their senior year to WB. Buster went to Maryville instead. A few others thought really hard about it too.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
