Just for the record....Shadroach is not BenDover.

Crossed my mind though it could be a planted post by a WB fan for bulletin board material. Desperation permeates the air.

WB gets past this game, the rest of the season looks ok on paper. Cleveland, Bradley are down from last yr. WB should be the fav vs LC, Hert and McMinn.  Don't know enough about the Owls but WB's non region schedule, with the exception of Elizabethon, is softer than greek yogurt

I knew a Williamson from the Fairview area. Class of '84. The one I am talking about is from Disco Road and only went to WB one year.

He spends most of his time fishing for crappie these days.  But in the day, he was usually best at every sport he participated in!

They need to honor the officials from that night also while their at it for giving WB 9 plays to make a touchdown inside the ten yard line. I knew one of the officials personally and he quit after that game because every Tom, Dick and Harry in town called him over the weekend right on into his job the following Monday. I was setting in his office when he called his boss K. C. and told him he wouldn't going to put up with all that kind of B.S. and harassment over a stupid ballgame. I just sat there knowing he had paid dearly for that bad call.

You can think the Maryville Defense player that jump off sides every time William Blount had it 4th and goal on the 2 yard line who by the way costed Maryville the game. Oh by the way he didn't do it once not twice but three times and that gave WB fresh set of downs. I was doing this clock in the press box at that time and I couldn't believe maryville made the same mistake 3 times in a row.

So said the official that made all three calls on the Maryville end of the field that quit right after that game. FYI that official was a former QB for Maryville during his playing days. From my seat which would have been closer than yours I didn't see the kid jump the third time or actually the second but that's water under the bridge now. My old saying is if you let an old dog hang around you deserve to get beat in the end for not taking care of things when you should of. I sure would hate it if the Maryville program reaches a point where we invite the last team to ever beat Alcoa 20 years from now for a reunion.

Yeah, I can't believe WB would try to have some fun and invite a very good team from their past to recognize their accomplishments on a milestone year. That shouldn't be allowed. I sure would hate to see something like that at Maryville as well.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
