I remember when Maynard was there that stadium was constantly packed out in black and now it’s barely anyone at games and only 30 or so players. It’s sad

Just curious, how is it you talk like your in the loop with the state of affairs with SC kids, SC coaches, issues with SC when you appear to spend all your time at Trousdale County.  When you say "we"

Remember you only need 11 to play. Not saying that 28 isnt a low number for the size school that SC is but your neighbor usually fields a team of about 30 maybe 35 and has great success. My point.....

Former Cumberland football player Scott Murray begins his first season on the staff at his alma mater, working with the linebackers in 2016.

The Carthage, Tenn., native was a team captain and a member of the only squad to reach the NAIA postseason in 1993, helping Cumberland to a 9-2 mark.

Murray spent two seasons as head coach at Hunters Lane High School in Nashville, ending a 30-game losing streak for the Warriors and posting five wins in the two seasons. He also served as head coach for two seasons at Whites Creek High School in Nashville.

His most successful tenure as a head coach came at Glencliff High School in Nashville, leading the Colts to the Region 12-5A championship along with its first winning season and first playoff appearance in 10 years in 2009. He earned the Warren Dunn Coach of the Year Award from the Metro Coaches Association that season as well.

Murray also served as defensive coordinator at Beech High School in Hendersonville for four seasons, spent four years as an assistant coach at Antioch High School in Nashville, one year at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro and three seasons at his alma mater, Smith County High School in Carthage.

Well, he has been around some good programs and some good coaches. Let's see what he can do.

That's not a bad resume. Winning a region championship with Glencliff seems to be quite an accomplishment.

      While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.

      also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county

      TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.

      stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
