I’m gonna swing by the mic stand tomorrow afternoon and grab some food. Hope to meet some of y’all there. All in all it’s just trash talk on here. Us Huntingdon folk ain’t bad and if you’re at the mic stand you may even have a few beers bought for ya.

Now football talk:

As many have said this game will come down to the trenches and ball control. I second that. The winner of this game will have to play well disciplined football. For the most part( I can’t speak on behalf of cornersville bc I don’t know) Huntingdon has played pretty disciplined football all year. I’m sure both teams will look to establish the ground game first. Huntingdon has been good at passing and mixing it up when they need to, which wasn’t the case last year. I imagine both teams are fired up and ready just as we are. I hope all fans make it over here safe and we have in injury free game.

score prediction:

huntingdon: 26

cornersville: 14

That was the plan to swing by the Mic and have a couple beers. Unfortunately had some things come up last minute and I will have my little boy with me.

Huntingdon will win by no less than 30 and Cornersville will go back to being the irrelevant little team nobody ever heard of and won’t make the playoffs again for another half a century. Historically bad programs like this have a good year or two and always think they’re something worth talking about. Everyone will forget who and where Cornersville is again after Friday.

An inch or two. Enough to cover the field and have some wet bottoms on the bleachers

I guess I'll have to bring my stadium chairs just in case. A couple grass burners should clear those bleachers right up. I wonder if the county could bring a road sweeper out to do the field?

Man it's been a long week. I'm a nervous wreck. Ready to play this game. Been to practice a couple times kids pretty upbeat and looking forward to playing a great ball team. I live for games like this one. Good luck to all you Bulldogs.

Fair enough. Thanks for the luck...may need it. Good luck to the Mustangs as well.

You literally joined an hour ago and this is what you bring to the table. Your deep insight is appreciated.

Funny how that “irrelevant” team booted the ponies out of the running last year.  Bless y’all’s hearts...can’t get a break!  Don’t let your coach blow it again on that last second “Go 2 for the win” call!

Prediction:

Cornersville- 32

Huntingdon- 31

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
