No, last year was the first time we've had a Mr Football as well. Hoping for a 2nd and a 1st! I think it was said earlier but I think this is only 3rd Semis appearance.

Getting that taste of success can spoil you. Enjoy it while you can. Peabody I believe has made it to the semis 4-5 times & been to the state game twice & won it once most recently in 2014. Peabody has had a lot of success since 2012. They’ve went quarterfinals, 2nd round, state champs, semis, 2nd round, quarterfinals last year & now semis again since that 2012 year. That’s a pretty good string of playoff appearances. They’ve beat some tough teams too. Joe Gaddis did an exceptional job of getting that program on track after it was slowly going down.

I hear ya. Waverly has come a long way. Weve had a lot of talent for many years. Our jr high team has had a lot of undefeated seasons but no one wanted to play for the high school. I think 08 was the first ever 0 win season, few years later we get McConnell and now the boys wanna play.

I hope you guys continue to have a lot of success. It definitely makes those work weeks easier in the fall when you can peg Friday night as the highlight of the week lol

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
