I think the problem here is that the east fans don’t realize how good Cville is because they just remember how they were last year and may not actually be realizing how much they have improved from last year to this year just like they did from 2016 to 2017, whereas these same east fans have seen in person how much Whitwell has improved.

The individual awards are referenced because it speaks to the quality of both players. It’s not that hard to comprehend. I get the point you’re trying to make, but you can’t downplay either accomplishment (with a logical, non-biased argument), no matter how much you want to.
