We all know Memphis is king in basketball no argument here. However it does make it easier when kids are allowed to change schools year in and year out without penalty. A very big unfair advantage but TSSAA can’t police Memphis on a regular basis. I guarantee you there are 19+ year olds playing their 9th and 10th semesters down there. Happens all the time.

Kids move and transfer all the time but there are not a ton of kids that are over age playing. There are various reasons for that this doesn't happen.

I agree there isn’t a bunch of over age kids but there are some out there. Not even going to discuss the movement thing we all know Memphis gets a pass on that. Last time Manassas was relevant Reginald Buckner was wearing a uniform. Come to think of it that was the last time they were in Class A. Funny how that works. I am sure they have a very good team so who wins the region tournament Manassas or BTW?

false! If so teams would get caught! Coaches link rules is what is getting teams in Memphis right now!

If kids keep leaving than why is it so many good teams in Memphis? I means we have schools only a few miles apart! everybody in the entire town does not go to the same school! SMH

It's a city with 600,000+ people. The county has almost a 1,000,000. It's a totally different thing than a town or county with 1-2 high schools and limited options for housing. The admin at my school deals with transfers in a serious manner. There are issues every year with kids moving in and out for various reasons.

Kids move schools for all kinds of reasons in the county. Many kids who don't play sports transfer all the time. The bottom line is if Memphis didn't didn't win all the time then no one would say anything.

So what do you think about those thugs fighting in that Adamsville vs Scotts Hill game?

No one in Class A is coming to Clay County in a substate game and getting a “W”  not Manassas, not BTW, not Humboldt not CA, Eagleville or Fayetteville. Not happening fellas. Clay is loaded for the next 6 years. Freshman team went undefeated and won state as 8th graders, this years junior high won it again. Back to back! At least 3 of Clay’s freshman would start on any other team in region 4 and they can’t even see the floor due to how good this team is.

Lol humboldt , or any Memphis team will come to clay CO for a sub-state game however you fixing to eat them words at state if you make it and i will tell you now clay CO will NOT BEAT HUMBOLDT. I have seen clay co play in a live feed from coach t and clay co does. Not have anything for humboldt

Eagleville and Fayetteville will give them all they want even at Clay.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
