Girls. Was something around a 5 point game at halftime at Grundy.

It finished as an 18 point win. Cumberland is basically all Freshmen and a 2 hour road trip to play a team on Sr night was to be expected to be close for a half. Plus Cumberland is not very good either and would finish around 6th or 7th in 8AA. The 1st round of the Regional Tournament will be slaughter unless someone like Smith or Watertown makes a run in the district tournament and comes to Crossville. Macon or Upperman would annihilate the entire 7AA All District team.

Congrats also to Tessa Miller and Mattie Buck sharing the co-defensive player of the year honor. Completely deserved. I know I couldn't pick between the two. Also congrats to Emma Capps all district and Annah Goss honorable mention all district and to Coach Buck for Coach of the Year honors. I would love to see the breakdown of all the district honors.

Stone has a lot of weapons. 5 that can score from anywhere and then 2 Sophs that come off the bench and shoot better than 50% from the 3, and not to mention the play really good D too?  This team is legit and you’ll have to be on your game (no matter who you are in the state) to beat them. They should make the dance and a real good run in it. These girls deserve A LOT more credit than they get. Crossville never gets credit  for their teams because no one wants to cover them (Nashville, knoxville, and Chattanooga is too far to cover them).

The Crossville Chronicle gives both high schools good coverage.

    • “facts” or better yet ‘opinions’ had been up for weeks/months. that’s not why the thread was deleted. get over yourself.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
