When SP played them in 2007-2008 they just played man to man and blitzed the rest. LMBO

Man is all I have ever known them to play. I'm not sure how much movement between schools they have in Chattanooga but that could explain why they do that. Easy to teach and should prevent complete busts.

Maybe so, but regardless I think they underachieve with the talent they have each season.

I suppose you could look at it that way. They have been one of the most successful inner city schools for over twenty years. Actually, among all schools. I would doubt Tyner has the advantage of having feeder schools that teach his defense or offense. Do there x's and o's lean on athletic ability? I think most would agree it does, especially on D. However, you can't coach the same way in every school.

Of course any coach gets "out coached" at some point if they last very long. So, point taken on that. I do think Coach Turner deserves a heck of a lot of credit for staying there for so long. You just don't see that much in inner city schools any more. And to my knowledge a classy guy and program.

Coach Turner has put together a very tough out of region schedule for Tyner these next 2 years with Alcoa and Baylor.   They should be playoff ready with that schedule if they can stay healthy.

He seems classy on interviews, but with the talent that they have.. I just feel like they underachieve. Just my opinion on it. Their talent is usually unrivaled in our area.

I put Cornersville at 10.  They don't have much returning that started last year.  Once you get down to 6 or 7 it's anyone's guess.

I put Adamsville in because they have at least 8 starters back on each side of the ball.

Good picks for sure. That 5-8 range in 1A is probably about like the 1-4 range.

    • Yeah, we came up short. I remember we threw a ball over the middle to #5 Guymon? and he came up short of the sticks. Gave em he&& for a bit though.
    • Doe dee doe doe…..hmmmmmmm one of those players can run faster than my lawnmower when I put it in 5th gear turbo.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
