There are great rivalries across the state.  One that I've always wanted to attend is the Maryville vs Alcoa.   Looks like I may get to that one this year and check it off my list.

Rockwood/Harriman i think is the oldest and it has gotten rowdy over the years you have Loudon/Lenoir city battle of the bridge its crazy at times.Yes Maryville/Alcoa.

The Alcoa/AE basketball one was the scariest i ever witnessed we left it got crazy there!!

Good rivalry yes. But not the best in TN.

It’s big enough to have a book written about it.   I’ve seen many people in middle Tennessee point to this one as being the most heated rivalry in the state. I’m not sure two programs dislike each other more than these two places. LMBO

I believe Rockwood/ Harriman is the longest running continuous rivalry.  Or something aIong those lines. I don't know how rowdy that one can be or could be.  I just know every year when that matchup comes around there is no one on the T to talk much about it if at all.

They never had much of a following on here. Those folks in Roane county can get flat crazy tho.It doesnt help that both have fallen off the publics eye as state contenders like they used to be either. Those two have had some outstanding players come thru over the years.

I will go on a limb and say its the best in 1a/2a. It goes back to 1924.  Plus they are related which means they really get into it. The parade between the 2 was banned in the 70s by the state.  The only one with more silver and gold balls between them would be Maryville/Alcoa.

BA vs MBA on the private side would be a good rivalry with a lot of hardware. I will agree that it is the best in 1A/2A.

    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
    • They struggled to field a team last year. I don’t see them being much better?
    • sx good two know thay didun't waint that entarr citty two see yeller/red......
    • Couldn’t agree more.. Tate is a special kinda player , but fortunately for us we get a best of 3 series. I think our pitching is better than last year when we made the trip to west tn. Should be a fun 2 or 3 games.
