I love RBS & btw I think it was 1978 they went 6-4 with some close losses and 5-5 the next year in which some starters got hit by a drunk and were lost for the year. When they said some kids were on vacation I lost it.When I played football and baseball up north they said you are committed. You go on vacation after not during

Its worse because those kids had to know it likely would lead to a forfeit because they don't have enough players.

Its one thing to skip a game and abandon your team. Its another to skip a game knowing that it means they won't even be able to field a team.

Them and Pickett need to scrap the programs. They are basketball towns.

I do not look forward to going back to 1A or to that region. I hated it.

I'm anxious to see how they align the region if TC moves down.

If that does happen, there will likely be more parity in the region than years past. The talent desparity at TC between the junior class and the lower grades is quite large.

Clay will be very good in the future, Monterey is up and down, and Gville may take a step back next year but will be considerably better the next few years. Not sure if Jo Byrns would stay in that region or not, but I hope they do.

I've also heard talk about Pickett scrapping their program, but I don't think RBS ever will.

I do not remember that. I just remember them having the longest losing streak in the state and ESPN doing a story on it.

I was at the game at Harrison Chilhowee now King's Academy where they easily won and broke the 69 game losing streak. The people were super nice and I made many a friend

Even in a down year, TC will dominate the region. With TC going to open enrollment next year talent will come to TC and pay 1500 to play in TC. TC already have two kids from Lebanon one from Gordonsville with another kid coming next year also a QB that came back to TC from FC. TC talent level will be fine and good enough to dominate the region.

With the way the numbers are looking we will be back in that region in 1A here in a few years when they redo classes.

I can understand and sympathize for not having enough numbers. I know its tough at that program. That school has about 200 kids but is also grades 6-12. So in reality most likely they only have about 120 kids 9-12. Then consider that about half of those are girls.

So you are talking about a school that probably has 60 or so boys in 9-12.

But when you have kids leave town to go on vacation rather than show up for a football game knowing that its likely gonna result in a forfeit.... I have no words.

They need to do the right thing and scrap that program and let the kids that want to play do so with Macon County. Who also have a numbers issue considering they are a 4A school.

200 is actually the 9 - 12 enrollment numbers as per the TSSAA site.

Some other teams besides TC that could be 1a next reclassification could be  Oneida, Rockwood, Wartburg, Cosby and Hampton in the east and Peabody, Trez and Mitchel in the West.  All of those should get the competition level up.

I don't think Peabody will leave 2A. With Watertown moving to either 3A or 4a, TC leaving 2A, Watertown going to 3A or 4A and Meigs talent level dropping some 2A would belong to Peabody for years to come.
