Not just rain but waiting an hour or two through potential lightning delays, if games can be played at all.

I'd rather they had moved the games up.  Especially if a homecoming game,  senior night or a region game.  Just makes better sense.

Sure high school football is for Friday nights. But high school football has now outgrown just 1 night a week.

I’d rather it was Friday. I won’t be able to make that long haul tonight.

I dont think the players or die hard fans care about the rain. Now the money grabbers at the gate.....all about sales

I have stood in standing water in a constant downpour years ago watching a 2-8 team play

I will stay on low road......sissy :roflol:

If ours was moved i wouldnt make it either, folks have jobs.Fri nights is when i get to be a kid again.LOL!

Oh dear are they expecting lightning tomorrow night or just rain? I hope we get to play the game. Does anyone know what the options would be if they could not? This is a region game. What are the rules? Everyone have a nice day.

Grider should have made them an offer they couldn't refuse.  Play it at Beene Stadium tonight or else.  :popcorneater:

Been there done that!  I was on top of Oakland's pressbox during a monsoon in the Semi-finals last year against Maryville.  Me and my broadcast partner toted a canopy and all our equipment up a ladder to the roof.  Hazards of the trade.

Yeah, I've been in press boxes that moved when the wind blew, ones where the tables were covered in bird guano, on scissor lifts in the rain,  one place where the roof I was on was about to cave in, and in the middle of the crowd during a windy playoff game. As bad as some of those were, my dad filmed from places that were a whole lot worse.

Most of the time I did color for a radio station, we weren't linked to anyone team.   We would freelance and travel anywhere (kind of like my show does now).  The biggest issue with that is we often didn't have a place in the pressbox which is typically reserved for home station and any team "acknowledged" as the away teams station.   You'd be surprised as some of the places we've had to setup.  Bleacher's, top of pressbox, we even called one from an endzone once (now that was an adventure)...lol

Yall are dedicated.  My hat is off to ya.  Now where can I purchase the blooper reel footage yall have put together through the years?

All evidence has been discarded.   I actually did Play by play for a few games back in 2013-14, SouthTowner.   I brought Pirate Mike up in the pressbox with me.

    • Y’all boys can’t spell discipline. Probably lead the state in personal fouls last year. Being halfway disciplined in 1 game against Smith County in 3rd round doesn’t dismiss the rest of the season. “Shoulda” won the state championship but those mouths got the best of you yet again. Marion already had a lot more retuning than y’all this year. Adding these 2 D1 kids will 100% make a major impact. Marion will stand on business this year. They haven’t forgotten. I’m just keeping it real
    • MC upgraded with 2 studs. If they can’t get it done this year with a generational speed talent in Pickett then I’m not sure they ever will. Huge favorite in the East currently.    Multiple offers from FCS calls for gold.
    • no they will be tough for sure
    • Marion just jumped ER as the favorites in the East. Two big time transfers for y’all kinfolks. Bullseye has been set now. I said it the last two years it is time and both times y’all let me down. Can’t say you’re short on talent this year or that you’re young. Time to put up or shut up. Surely y’all can get over the hump this year. I’m just keeping it real
    • Should have won by 30 last year if we played discipline at the very least. May have got 2 dogs up front but remember we have the best DL in the state on our team. Also added a 6’6” 320lb O lineman.
