5 Class Plan

I don't know if there is any way to work in City vs. County into all this mess, but it's a fact that the average county school does not have near the funds/resources/etc. as the city schools.     City schools can offer more $$$ to top coaches, they have better facilities, etc.        Not in every case across the board but on average.       It would be interesting to see the trend of state champions from the county vs. the city.        Exceptions would be those counties where there is only one high school in the county.     I don't know, just something else to chew on.....       Any followup thoughts?

Bingo!    It makes as much sense as the T$$AA ever implementing a good playoff system.

I wouldn't mind a return to a Z-plan system if it could be explained to the coaches and fans completely. There was a lot of fussing and confusion. You could keep the 6 class playoff system but cut down on the regular season classes to help rivalries and travel distance, plus make it an actual reward for good play to make the postseason.

3 class regular season would probably be too much, that was another reason for complaints, but 4 or 5 could work.

Z plan was not as bad in retrospect but it definitely needed tweaking to prevent the easy scheduling.  I think it could work.

    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
