Indian
It would take a lot of work, and schools' boys and girls teams sometimes being rated far differently might set it back before it started. But I wouldn't mind a system where there were no districts/regions etc, teams scheduled whoever they wanted. At the close of the regular season, group teams into four postseason brackets by school size, out of qualifying teams-either by a minimum .500 record, Z-plan type rating, however it could be done. Getting those teams qualified in a way everyone would agree on would be a headache but the regular season interest would certainly increase. Travel would likely be aided. Jimbob9
When is the next opportunity for this to be fixed?

A 0-388 Students 83 Schools AA 389-734 Students 84 School AAA 735-1184 Students 84 Schools AAAA 1185-2513 Students 84 Schools I’d say this is the most likely change IF a change occurs. Still a big gap in those AAAA numbers but looks alright for the other three classes. Is travel the big issue for splitting districts in a four class system or has it even been discussed? thenomad
Why not put all of the school's back together, then separate into 6 divisions with private schools suffering a 2.0 or 2.5 multiplier? That would brings closer teams for district and region play. That would eliminate small school's playing private schools for the most part. Plus you only have 6 championships instead of 8+. A good single A school won't schedule a AAA with 2,000 plus kids. Gibson County and Greenfield will, because they want their kids tested before tourney time. But the average A school wont. I'm pretty sure that is what makes them a "good team". Playing similar and lesser talented teams do not make your kids better. It makes a coaches record look better, but does not make your team better in the end.
Jimbob9
When is next opportunity for a change. Isn’t there a certain cycle these things go in? Next year sounds great to me.

I think this would be great but only give a 2.0 multiplier to the schools that give full scholarships and a 1.5 to everyone else.

Example: when Football season ends and state champions are crowned they will begin reclassification work for football. same with the other sports. So for Hoops this will change in the spring of 2021. Jimbob9
That’s sad. Kids that graduate in 22 will have gotten the shaft 3 of their 4 years. I guess one year of legitimate competition is better than none.
901Hoops850
I'd like to see the biggest 32 teams in the state (like 6A football) be the same set-up for basketball. I am guessing that would require 4 classifications?
GCPioneer
4 classifications is going to happen I'm pretty sure
