The 5 classes would be fine just wish they would look into Ga. playoff system and create a bracket. 1seeds and 2seeds play at home and others traveland play teams they usually don't get to play. Lets have a playoff and not have the same teams play each other the first few rounds, this would build some interest.

It’s easy

i want 4 but there will be at least 5 because more schools are added every year seems like

 so with 5 classes

 0-400 A

401-800 AA

801-1200 AAA

1201-1600 AAAA

1600-up AAAAA

private 2 classes

 0-375 pA

376-up pAA

if you want to play up 1 class you can

Easy to say that but are there an equal amount of teams in those ranges? How far is the travel? How many teams per district?

I promise it would be as good or better than we have now

maybe only have 4 classes which is what i want to see if you’re worried that much about travel let’s say

With 5 seems you can adjust the number by a hundred let’s say  if more schools are in one than another. Shouldn’t be a hugh issue. But allot of people will make it one

We can't have 4 teams in one region in football and 7 teams in another region in the same classification. That's my only issue.

Well they should have a lot of time to discuss how they will set up the classification for 2021. I really don’t  see the 2020 season happening In high school college or nfl

Someone is buying into the fear porn out there.

Major sports will return in June. Don't lead the media scare you.

Do you realize we have 6 classes now and some teams are traveling two hours for a district game and if you minimize it to 5 classifications seems like you would have more schools your size closer to you than 2 hrs

Yes, I do realize that we have schools that are geographically challenged in a way. There's a school in the state that is currently in a region that is 2 hours and 36 minutes away from their furthest school of travel. I do realize this. Thank you!!

I don't necessarily think everything should be left up to numbers.  Too many schools "fix" the numbers.  Teams that dominate a certain class should be MADE to play up (eg. Alcoa).

How would you do it then if it's not up to numbers? Thats the most fair way to do it when playing similar in size. (Maybe teams need to learn to get better instead of complaining).  It wouldn't matter if Alcoa was bumped up to 4a or 5a they would still dominate......

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
