Cant speak for them but Alcoa has been to other states and played in the past. Not sure about Maryville going out of state that i can remember.
what is your reasoning behind seeing them go to other states?

so if they lose you can say something about it or what ?????

You know this is spot on. I have several Maryville friends that are whining like a rusty wheel bearing on a wheelbarrow!

This really started when Alcoa passed Maryville in total number of state wins. They cannot stand it! So, the funny part, they start using the same whiny argument that others used on them for years! "When's Maryville going to move up and play big boy football?" Over and over. NOW.....Maryville fans...."Alcoa need to move to 5A" "Alcoa needs to play tougher teams" "Alcoa going to go broke playing little teams".......Classic.

Alcoa played three classifications up in three game last season and is scheduled to do so this coming season. Alcoa has traveled out of state and play other state championship teams. Maryville?......yea they play WB, and Heritage!!! Keep whining that Alcoa's schedule is "club'n baby seals ".....us Alcoa fans know the reason for the whine! 19! Ha!

Tristan Blankenship will probably play at Carter with his younger brother. And, yes #7 was a GREAT player!

Y’all have an abundance of great skill position players. But the O and D lines are what gets the job done at Alcoee. Having 5 starters back on the o line will make whoever takes the snaps life a lot easier. I see a sophomore named Lance Williams at 6-3 305 is a returning starter. That kid will be a monster by the time he is a senior. Also having Carroll back on the D line is huge. He should win Mr. Football this year. Just my two cents.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
