Lake County at Humboldt

LC travels to Humboldt Friday night to play the Vikings. LC struggled on the offensive side of the ball against Dresden. Humboldt is supposed to be improved. The Vikings have athletes. I believe the Falcons clean up the penalties this week and gets the offense on track. LC wins this one by 3 to 4 tds. What is everyone else's take on this game.

They lost 33-0 to halls and 36-12 to west Carroll. The 12 they scored on west Carroll was after the mercy rule went into effect. They have a forfeit win over Memphis East so technically they are 1-2. But make no mistake, they are horrible. If a slightly better than horrible halls team beat them 33-0 you should drill them. Unless LC isn’t as good as we all think......

The halftime score was 22-6 in favor of West Carroll...

All jokes aside, Humboldt is still bad, and until they find the right administration staff and the right head coach, this team will not compete with Lake County for region championships, play Lake County or Freedom Prep in the Quarterfinals, and hopefully play Huntingdon each year on Black Friday. That should be the expectation for Humboldt year in and year out. But first, they got to kick extra points.

No problem for the Falcons. Sad that a once West TN name around here is the bottom of hs football around here

BPM Lake County is a young squad and have alot of things to clean up on offense. I feel like the Falcons will get better every week. Humboldt could be a gold mine for the right coach.

People say that but I just don’t believe it about the gold mine part. In 1996 Humboldt played Marion Co in the 3A title game in the old 5 class days. They had over 600 students. Now they barely have a third of that. All the students have gone to South Gibson, Crockett Co and Jackson Privates. And that’s where the football players are.

The ones that are left there don’t want to play football. The ones that do go somewhere else. They are focused on basketball.  
if you guys don’t beat them you have big problems

Yes I know that they lost alot of kids. Their enrollment is about like ours. They have excellent athletes playing basketball. So I figured they have more like that in the hallways.

In the early 2000’s up till about 2014 I’d say it would be a gold mine, but since they got rid of Dan Bland the ship has sunk big time. The bad one recent class that had athletes, but nothing was ever done with them

It's sickening to see how far this once proud program has fallen.
