Thats what Im hearing. No games for the Bucs tomorrow night, and probably next week too.

I'm assuming it's the stupid, stupid contact tracing protocol? What a disastrous policy this has been, both for schools and football teams! It's the ultimate overreaction, especially when kids are not at risk from dying whatsoever and most are asymptomatic or having very mild symptoms. If you're sick and test positive, stay home and rest until you get better. Everyone else should be living life and playing ball! It's simple stuff. Our decision-makers are struggling!

From Twiiter:

BHS family, Out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our student athletes, we have suspended football activities for the next two weeks due to recent Covid19 positive test results and associated close contacts that are also team members. Homecoming will be 10/2

It's been like this all over the state! A few positive tests and they shut it down. I think it's likely TSSAA protocol with this contact tracing nonsense. However, with the flu, we send the sick people home and everyone else continues life/sports...and the flu is much more crippling to kids, be it sick level and/or death. This is unbelievable overreaction! All these teams could continue playing without those that test positive in almost every situation...since it is typically only a few infections per team. Again, this may forever change the flu protocols as well. If not, this has been a complete scam!

It's definitely not TSSAA protocol but school and school board based.  Elizabethton had 3 starting OL last week that didn't play because of having close contact with someone that tested positive but didn't stop their game against Daniel Boone

Yes, heard this was a county/school board decision.

No one - literally no one - should be surprised by their team getting shut down. Would imagine their other fall sports will soon follow and perhaps even in-person school, All you had to do was look at their student section (and Hendersonville's) last Friday. Packed in like sardines and ZERO masks. What an absolute failure of administrative leadership at both schools.

Good to see SportsGuy22 still in his denial phase. Some people never learn.

Denial phase of what?! Kids are not at risk of dying or even getting that sick. Please. How’s the flu response going to be for the future?! It’s way worse for kids. Shutdowns? Contact tracing? Quarantines?

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
