INJURED ROCKET - #11 McClendon

Mom posts daily updates on facebook.  Our community is honoring her request  for prayers and not questions for details at this time. Injury is very serious; surgery was deemed successful. Large community wide prayer event was held at the school last night. Gym was packed with locals and other school's representatives. Now all you can do is wait and see how his body reacts and recovers. One detail from yesterday is that he was placed on a ventilator. This is common for spinal cord injuries in the area above where the breathing muscle nerves leave the spinal cord. Continue to pray by name for Micah McClendon.

May God Bless this young man, his family, teammates, coaches, and this community. General, your initial post made the hair on my arms stand up as many don't understand why we all love this game so much. Very well said. Praying that God's Will be done during this time and above all else that he get the Glory of it all!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
