Powell starting left guard is out, and Central has 4 starters out to my knowledge, 2 starting corners, and there starting safety are 3 of the 4 out for Central.

So Central is missing  3/4 of their starting secondary?  That could be too much to overcome against Plow and their passing game.

the thing that central has adapted to so well since the 2016 season, they neutralize your best player/strength and take that away. they’ve taken a page from the rebel/tornado handbook and it’s worked well. we’ll see if they can do the same tomorrow night.

They would have to take away a lot.  Powell has players all over the field on offense.  I don't believe they will be able to take away all of them.  Not to mention there starting safety and 2 starting corners are not playing.

......so I go back to one of my original thoughts, they have to get to Potts to have a chance.

Agreed. Also, Central’s best defense may be their offense. Powell is weak up front defensively, so if Central can sustain some drives and keep Powell’s offense off the field, they have a great chance to win it.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
