Need An Explanation from the TSSAA!

The school that could have played will receive a win in the overall standings if the game is not replaced. If the school that could play does replace the game with another opponent, the outcome of the game will be used in the overall standings.

Based on the published rules, schools that play the 11th game won't be eligible for the post-season is what it looks like.

It's pretty clear that the game has to be "in the same week".

"COVID Wins" are counted for regional playoff standings only if they're not replaced with an actual game...

Might have been simpler to just say if you can't play for any reason it is a loss and the other team gets an automatic win. 

Also if you reschedule a game with another team due to the original opponent being unable to play then the outcome of that game does not count for playoff seeding purposes.

BUT  I still dont know how to handle a situation where BOTH teams could not play (i.e. two metro nashville schools that would have been able to play each other had they been allowed to).

Blame the Mayor.  He is the one that cheated these Metro kids.  There has been emails come out that he was playing politics with the whole Covid situation.

They're just not counted for post-season.  Other districts will have an advantage because of it.  Same with Memphis.

I think is pretty clear.  Counts as a W but not a loss.  It is what it is.  To me it is a good reward for the Gallatin community leadership for being non political and allowing the kids to play.  Plus I don't think it is fair to assume Hillsboro beats them.  

One other team that really caught a break was Summit.  They win the region without playing Shelbyville when Summits best player was injured last week. On top of that they will now get Gallatin in the second round instead of Hillsboro.

Love reading all of this back and forth.  How about the Shelby County Public Schools, they don't get to play a single game all season.  At least Metro gets to play some games.

They can't play week 11 because they both have region games in both week 10 and 11. One region game does not take priority over another.

Gallatin is not 5-5.  They are 3-5.  They are 3-0 in region play but not overall record.  Gallatin has a 10 game season and the Covid wins are not counted on overall record.  It’s pretty simple, I do not understand the confusion.  You have to separate region games from regular season unless they have an actual contest.
