In my day we played wherever the coach needed us to play and if we weren't willing to do that we were told to turn in our gear. I'm not from the leather helmer era, but I am from the era of side body blocks to the knees, crack-back blocking, helmet-to-hemet hits, and no mouthpieces....just to name a few.
