Hampton was a well-coached team. The changed some of their blocking schemes out of the same formations they'd used during the season. Their running back was better than I thought. Hampton just didn't have the horses on defense to stop Meigs,  Meigs is making some adjustments with different personnel on defense this week, so maybe they'll be more effective.

We are young in the secondary and they took advantage of that and size difference and did so, well....The double teams and down field blocking left us with one man on an island a few times back there. Bringing down #2, one on one, was not what we wanted to see. They grow some awfully big skill players down that way! But we did do a poor job tackling too often. I would have liked to have seen a bit better blocking across the board for us. The QB was focused on all night and the holes just weren't there to get turned loose...but it did leave others, such as 24, to have a pretty good night.

I expect to see the same Meig's game plan for the SG game because I don't believe they have much if any more speed.

We completed our passes (a couple big drops and overthrows) but did so under great pressure and paid the price after release...I expect SG's QB to face the same.

From what you and others have said, Hampton returns a lot of players next year. Making it to round 3, then the semifinal game is tough....making it to the State Championship game is even tougher.

Only had one senior touch the ball against you guys. Just need a productive off season.

That's very impressive! Meigs has a few very dedicated young men who worked out on their own all Spring and Summer. It takes that type of dedication from the players to make it to the semifinal game and State Championship game.

And for the most part our spring and summer was dead as a door knob. We have to do better this year if we are to reach our potential. Its already started here.

Seen both teams edge in my opinion goes to MC because of the guys up front , guys in the trenches win games

They are huge and can move.  I was impressed with them last year.  Unfortunately for Meigs,  Peabody's line was more physical and athletic.  I do expect a rematch with Meigs or Trousdale.

Don't know much about H20 and Bledsoe

    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
    • Looks like Trent Noah was released from his NLI at South Carolina with intent to pursue playing closer to home. Kentucky and Louisville both reported to be in the mix for him now.
