Ummm, yes.

Please show me the Sankey, Cox, Carroll, and Anderson on Maryville’s roster. Number 1 is the most talented player you have and matches up with those guys but who else?

Also I don’t think Maryville has two Division one offensive tackles that go 6’5 305 and 6’4 310....

No and they never have really...but where did that get you?  Oh yeah it got you to basketball season.

What I’ll see tonight is an excellent football program, a team that plays together, individuals who do their job, and a coach that knows what the heck he’s doing. Not 6 or 7 division one athletes. Will some of your youngsters be division one players in the future? Maybe. But at this point I only see one.

Don’t need any of those mentioned and beat them.

MARYVILLE has doing that 2min drill right before the half on teams for 20 years. That is where MARYVILLE beats most teams ... right before the half.

Its funny, in the 1st half Maryville absolutely barbequed DB's secondary, but in the 2nd half they kept trying to run it.    A couple of people around me were wondering if they knew the game was a done deal (meaning if they started passing again they could score within a few plays) and they just wanted to work on their run game against a very good DB defense.    I have no idea if that was the thinking, but if you look at play selection in the 1st half vs. 2nd half it sure appears that way.

Less chance of a turnover and they were running the clock.

Also those 2 big Ol boys had to hold or tackle our little DTs and LBs all night ... it was quite comical really... a 205 lb LB dragging a 6’5” 305 lb OL around the field to make a tackle.  Lmao

Who are you referring to?   DB linemen topped out at 260.  3 of them were 6’1”....didn’t see any of getting dragged anywhere.

Exactly, Our defense was getting no rest what's so ever scoring fast as we were. What it was creating was a shootout. Good problem to have but sometime or the other you have to take your foot off the pedal or you'll blow the thing up. Our defense was getting punished for the sins of the offense and the kickoff return team.

This is my most favorite thing I enjoy about watching Maryville High Football. While the other teams have their attention on getting to the locker room for halftime we sneak one in on them. You'll never see another team in Tennessee that has done that over and over so successfully. Worth the price of admission just for that alone.  It's like watching someone talking to somebody else while their pizzing on them and they don't realize it until their done.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
