The past 4 years, Oakland and Maryville have played 6 times.  Each have a 3-3 record.  What tides are changing exactly?

He doesn’t know man, just another hurt fan who’s team hasn’t won anything. Oakland beat the golden juice bears in 2014 53-0 idk why this guy is talking like golden juice bears have ever made a state appearance

Either there or Bearden, it's okay though. We've put up enough of these kind of scores on teams so I'll take a loss or two like these for a couple hundred wins all decade.

Dude, you’ve won like 10 championships in 15 years. Most teams could only dream of having such success. I would sleep quite easily tonight.

We get it every year. Lord knows when we finally lose to a Knoxville area team not named Alcoa then they'll be partying in the streets.

These 2 teams will meet again next year in the semis, that I'll guarantee. Hard to see either team beating each other at home over the next 4-5 years.

I would say since Oakland has put a running clock on Maryville in 2 of the last 3 years, yes things are changing!  When was the last time a team has put a running clock on Maryville 2 out of 3 years?  Matter of fact when was the last time a team other then Oakland put a running clock on Maryville?

They are Changing. As we speak.

Oakland will probably win it all next year, too.  And, James, Horton, Patterson, etc will graduate.  Then, Maryville or someone else will win again.  Same thing happened with the Maryville team from last year that Oakland couldn't score a point on.  Davis, Hodge, Maples, Shiver etc graduated, and Maryville couldn't replace them.  Like I said, it's all cyclical

We won 14-0, buddy. We completely shut-down SD rushing attack. It figures we would go to state the year y’all don’t. Was hoping I could see all y’all there. Maybe next time.

I wouldn't have made it in even if we won, but now we'll just get our boys in a little earlier than what we'd normally like. We start this week and hopefully can complete a full season.

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
