Serious question here. Have you watched SP play? More specifically, did you watch our game last week. It’s on YouTube. We held one of the “best” running teams in the state to like 45 total yards. -11 in the second half. To say any team in 1 or 2A would score 33 on us is insane. FC only hope is to hold us to a low score and that’s very hard to do. Meigs did it best, but like I said, we didn’t play for 3 weeks prior to that game and meigs is a great team.

I think we all know Coalfield wasn't the best running team in the state, even before that game. That's just all they could do (vs bad defenses) lol

I thought it was Ronto that was laying on the ground who almost caught it?

I heard it was Hunter but never asked any players or anyone as to not bring it up. I coulda swore I saw 4. If it wasn’t Hunter I’ve lived the last year thinking a lie lol

Well a lot of people said they were “one of the best” because of that formation. In 1A at least I think we are the best. That’s not biased I just can’t find a team who’s better at it. If there is, please show me.

Hunter dropped one down the sideline earlier in the game. Ronto had the Hail Mary in his hands before it was knocked away to end the game.

Oh okay. I always thought it was hunter who dropped the final one. I knew whoever it was had it and lost it. To be honest, we woulda got slapped by Lake County in state anyway.

I doubt that. You had the defensive front to stop them more than we did that game. We didn't even look like we were playing for a championship. Came out flat and stayed that way most of the game. Also, found some more film on Fayetteville... I just don't see them hanging around.

For those who think SP is more talented and athletic that FC , you are sadly mistaken. SP does have an advantage in depth however, that may be the key, Fayetteville has big strong fast kids all over the field that have won a ton of games together, but that won’t get them past SP, close till the 4th, SP may score late when FC turns over on downs for their last punch. All in all, probably one of the better 1A matchups and one I would get used to seeing if I was all of you

SP 42

FC 33

You won’t get use to seeing this matchup. Fayetteville is in the west. Peabody is dropping down. This will likely be the only time we see Fayettevile for awhile. I will be disappointed if our defense gives up 5 touchdowns as well.

I don't know about that. I think our offense and defense was built for that game. Just couldn't get past the GB curse.

That lake team was built for a championship. If they threw at all they’d beat us. Even simple passes GB torched us on.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
