After watching Fayetteville play Moore and Lake County....I can tell you SP would mercy rule both those teams...I don't think Fayetteville is very disciplined. SP offense gets the glory but it's the defense that is going to shine Friday.

How did you watch those games? I’d like to see for myself

I told PirateMike the same thing today about Lake County.

There is NO WAY Fayetteville scores 30 on South Pittsburg!!! There is NO Way Fayetteville holds South Pittsburg under 35...  This Game reminds me of the JO Byrns state Championship. Jo Byrns Fans were sure they could score with South Pittsburg. During Halftime we all met at the Goal line to chart and the Fans on here just couldn't believe South Pittsburg was that good! I believe this Team has more size and Talent than the 2010 Team imho.

South Pitt 42

Fayetteville 0

I think we were the better team last year, but I think their 1 or 2 big weapons were better than our 1 or 2 big weapons if that makes sense. And their 1-2 big weapons made more big plays than ours did in the end

As a whole, I believe you had more playmakers. But like you said, our big playmakers outperformed that game. If SP was able to pass the ball to keep us from playing the run every play, it could've been different. The times you did pass the ball, the receivers were wide open. It hurt that you didn't have Sanders that game as well. Thinking back to that last play hail mary..... every heart dropped on our side thinking he caught that ball. There were so many turns in that game. Y'all were up most of the game until the 3rd-4th quarter and it went back and forth from then on. Crazy atmosphere!

For those who think SP is more talented and athletic that FC , you are sadly mistaken. SP does have an advantage in depth however, that may be the key, Fayetteville has big strong fast kids all over the field that have won a ton of games together, but that won’t get them past SP, close till the 4th, SP may score late when FC turns over on downs for their last punch. All in all, probably one of the better 1A matchups and one I would get used to seeing if I was all of you

SP 42

FC 33

This is just my opinion but I don't see this being a 1 score ball game in the 4th.

A lot of people said not having sanders worked because y’all had no film for Jaylyn at QB that season and a lot of the plays we ran were never really ran in the regular season or playoffs because Brayden isn’t a running QB. I honestly think you would have killed us if Brayden had played. Not because of him, but because of play calls.

Also, on that final play, when Hunter dropped it. I think that’s what he’s doing this year. He’s on a mission to forget all about that dropped pass. He’s doing a good job of it so far.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
