Well said.  I didn't notice any Falcons, but I'm sure you are right.  I did notice several Cornersville people/players that went to the So. Pitt side though.  That's like, I hate Alabama or Florida, but I'm gonna cheer for them when they play someone else 'cause they're in the SEC.  Smh.

Agree SMH with this post. I have several friends from SP. Figured I could sit where I wanted.

4A Tullahoma plays 6A Coffee Co. for the Coffee Pot. Just thought it might be a good rivalry game. Elk River rivalry.

Agree. I also don't buy the argument that the risk of injury is too high. It all comes down to LC for years not wanting to play out of spite and City not wanting to now that they have the advantage, similar to Texas refusing to play an SEC Texas A&M and then A&M deciding not to play when Texas saw the light. In both cases, it's hard for both sides to agree at the same time that a great rivalry should happen, rather than try to maintain a perceived current advantage.

The City-LC game should happen in baseball and basketball, too, and there's even less reason not to make that happen since games across classes are so common. The City girls recently played and beat Shelbyville for goodness sake.

I would include boy's soccer in that mix as well.  We both have comparable teams.  I know City for years approached LC for a soccer match, but were denied each time.  They only got the green light to play each other in outside tournaments just two years ago, and that's only because LC forfeited a match to City three years ago b/c "we can't play you" and their parents raised a stink with the Superintendent.  justifiably so.

They were talking about last year and no Fayetteville would have not beat Lake County, Huntingdon, So. Pittsburg or Greenback last year. This year a different story enjoy the championship. You never know when the next one will come around.

I disagree. I'm not from City either.

I agree with you on the risk of injury not being a factor. LC might have more players but I would argue the top ones at City are probably stronger and faster.

I would be surprised if they play in any sport in the near future. As you said, LC has refused to play City for many years out of spite. The LC administration has also tried to burn City with false accusations for years. That isn’t exactly the way to mend fences.

Dont forget a huge push for a Metro government for LC several years back, and the school system was a HUGE factor in those discussions
