Top 3 is correct.

The rest is hard to tell, as it is still early and most of the guys in the AP are only truly familiar with one or two of these teams.

I agree. There are a lot of good teams in Class A, but only three right now who have a realistic shot at playing in Chattanooga in December. Whoever comes out of Region 1/2 could make it interesting for South Pitt since they would host. As for the West, Fayetteville deserves every bit of respect as the defending champions and would be hosts of the semifinals, but Peabody will certainly be an uphill battle for anyone. Whichever team makes it to December will certainly have earned it.

My dark horse in the East is Cloudland.  I just don’t know if they play a tough enough schedule to prepare them for the playoffs.  Don’t they return a lot?

It's a reality this year that we could make it to the 4th round.  We just don't have enough guns to go to war with you all.  The starting 11 are studs but we can only sub 2 players

Fayetteville and Peabody are proven champions who both return enough to take home gold again this year, but McKenzie is big, fast, athletic, and hungry. Not ready to predict a Reb win against either, but if (when) they meet, I want to be there.

I believe my SP team has a high chance of making it, but realistically the best games prior to State will come in the quarters and semis in the West.

You guys are the pick from the East by a wide margin right now. From the West, there are two no brainers (Trenton and Fayetteville) who both won it all last year, but have a very good and hungry team nipping their heels. Somebody will have to hit McKenzie in the mouth to get to where they want to be.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
