Here we go!  Looking forward to this game.  Two teams that bring out the best in each other. It doesn’t get any better than this for high school football.

So from the numbers,  the last six games between these two have resulted in EHS scoring 146 points (24.3 avg) and GHS 123 points (20.5 avg). EHS has won the last four and the prior two were won by GHS. BUT!  The Greene Devils have done what the Cyclones haven’t!  When they have lost the first meeting, they have went on winning in the playoffs to play Betsy a second time.  Betsy has not.  I feel this game will be a close scoring game with the better defense getting the edge.  After all, defense wins championships.  But if history holds true, an early loss may very well play against the Cyclones.  With 4A having more quality teams in region 2, this game just gets more interesting.

    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
    • The lawsuit requests a jury trial. Sable Winfree has extremely competent legal representation. FYI - her lawyer represented the Warren County school system for years, and I believe he knows what constitutes a reasonable lawsuit.
