I agree. I would probably tried the field goal ( no guarantee of making that tho ), took a tie into OT.  But, that's HS football.

Yes, there is no guarantee of making the short field goal.  However, there is no guarantee that we are going to wake up every morning.  Needless to say physical mistakes are acceptable but this was a huge mental mistake on the coaching staff and mental mistakes are not acceptable.
