So with the weather outlook for Friday, who does a cold, rainy night benefit? I know if we were playing Westview I would be licking my chops but with UC, not so much. The Mustangs have done a great job with ball security this season, way better than in seasons past.

Two weeks ago at Camden the water was bad on their field. It rained hard of course but just didn’t seem to drain well. At least this one will be played on one of the nicest fields in the state.

Poster, This is the best Mustang team in a long while. These boys are legit. I really do not think it matter what is going on with the weather.

UC has a good team and they are going to be maulers over the next 2-3 years. I saw the middle school team from your current sophomore class..... Sheww, the rest of the league better better eat their protein because that sophomore class is SALTY!!!

I have been wondering about that myself. Like UC77 said, we played on a Camden field that didn’t drain well at all and water was standing everywhere. We handled the ball pretty well during that situation. I’m certain the Stang’s field will drain just fine so it will be holding on to the wet ball. Also, slippery field could prove problematic for both teams. Penalties and turnovers will be huge.

Field won't be slippery just wet ball problems. This time of year is when turf fields shine.

I don't think weather conditions will dictate this game that much due to the playing style both teams have. Really excited to have a great program like Union City on our schedule each year again. So many good games and memories from watching these teams go at it in years past.

Like Huntingdon, Union City has a talented Freshman and Sophomore class. This could be the game of the season for each team the next couple of years. Good luck to both squads.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
