The Wrath of Shad.

From what I'm hearing from a few parents is that they fled the Wrath of Shad before he had resigned last season at WB only to turn up with short notice when the present coach resigned to take a position at Maryville. They may not had a choice due to the way positions are handled especially just a few weeks from the beginning of school. Last year after moving to a lower competitive region and getting Maryville off the schedule it all really just backfired on WB it seems. I watched everyone of those games on film and if there was a way to lose it they found a way to do it. Every time they had a chance to pull off a win  it was like somebody said, here hold my beer. From my personal observation most of that team was un-coachable especially the line. Most of that is due to the pizz poor feeder system going into it, no doubt. The way Shad coaches fits more in line with a single A or AA system because he really had no choice at WB. It's funny how a man that Shad hired as his assistant at WB gets the job as head coach at Eagleton and coached 3 ninth grade games last season against other schools B Teams and got walked all over. He takes an opening at Maryville and now is considered the Holy Grail of Coaches that Shad is going to have to walk in his shadow now according to some of the upset parents of some of these players has been pretty interesting to hear about this weekend.

“Forced out” is a more accurate term

Wow, I didn’t know he was fired. I knew he had been under a microscope for several years, but I thought he left on his own.
Whatever…things happen for a reason I guess. Hopefully it works out for both parties. Does Eagleton have a baseball team? Who is the coach?

Travis Hart is the baseball coach.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
