Lake County has lost several 1st and 2nd round games in their history. Most all schools have lost games in the first and 2nd round. The Falcons also have alot success in the playoffs.

I know in ‘97,’98, and ‘99 LC went out 1st round because I was on those teams. ‘96 we played St Benedict in the quarters.

Yes sir I remember them all. I can remember all the way back to 1977. That was LC first championship appearance. Unfortunately we had to play Alcoa. I can remember just about all of the Falcons seasons from 77 to now. Perhaps the best LC game that I witnessed was in 77 in the semifinals against Westmoreland. The Falcons won 7 to 5 and blocked at 20 yard field goal on the last play of the game. I have witnessed many great LC games over the years and hope to witness many more.

St Benedict in ‘96 was terrible. The field was nothing but mud and we were dry on the sideline.

It's interesting you say this because I played against St. Benedict in 1997. That quagmire cost us a trip to the state championship. I guess this was their go to home field advantage. I'd never seen anything like it nor have I seen anything like it since.

True story! We parked in the dirt on the practice field but there was a foot of water on the sidelines! Stopped to eat with some cheerleaders and they refused to go in and eat because they looked like mud wrestlers

I totally believe you. We experienced the same. Even remembered asking a gentleman about the rain that we thought they apparently had expereinced the few days prior to which he replied, "what rain?"

It ruined quite a bit of our gear as some things weren't salvageable once we returned home. Toughest one point loss I ever experienced.

I remember that game really well. The whole field had at least 2 inches of water on it and everything else was dry. They wanted to slow LC down and accomplished their agenda.

Cloudland did same thing in 2011,we were 30 to 40 points better.Barely came out with a 12-0 win.Punters couldnt even punt it was so slick and they admitted to it.Sprinklers all night. It was funny years later but sucked that night!Worse conditions our kids ever played in.Said they had to slow us down some how.LOL.The next year at home we were up by 40 at half.
