I remember that butt kicking, if I'm not mistaking we played Cloudland that year in the playoffs also.  We was lucky to get by them, they had a really tough fullback.  I don't think we win if he didn't get hurt.  Tough kid!   May have not been the same year though but Davis played in that game.

It was God intervention that we lost that game. We would have had to play Hampton again and at that point in the school's history,  any hope of friendship would've been lost forever.  They couldn't bring enough law enforcement to contain the wrath of the fans and players that night if that game happened.  People might think I'm exaggerating but our rivalry really took a dark turn in 05.  I hope it never gets that bad again

2005 was just different.  This board was on fire.  You would've thought cland and Hampton were playing every week.   There was never a more anticipated game than week 10 2005.  The atmosphere at orr field was crazy

I recall my father and his friend talking about this game all week long. I was 13 at the time never seen cloudland that full since..Mostly standing room only at that time.

People say these boards don't mean nothing but what was said on here created the atmosphere at the games in 05.  I still say I was partly responsible for us losing to cak in 03.  I talked terrible trash all week and the cak players were calling my name after that game

To me the talk and all the above that happens is football been around it since I was 4. Love the game so much its like a part of life. And as far as you king I remember my dad getting all bent out of shape and asking for your presence at a particular yard line at Hampton in the days I played. But it's cloudland and Hampton can't get anything better than a single Friday full of pride and smashmouth football when we square up. Always cheering for yall other than the week we play each other.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
