Lake County at Haywood - Thursday night

Heard a radio show on the way home last night and the emcee said Lake County may be the hottest team in West Tennessee. They will have a big task against former HC and current Haywood assistant Josh Puckett. The Tomcats are averaging around 47 points per game. I know LC has some good looking skills, but can their lines hold up against the big boys and the vaunted HC rushing attack?

Lake County is going to come to Brownsville and play their game and let the chips fall were they may. It's an uphill battle but the Falcons will give it their all. It's a shame that a small 1A school is willing to play the Tomcats and schools their size and bigger will not. I just hope for an injury free game for both teams.

I respect the heck out of Lake County, regardless of the outcome

I tip my hat to Falcons for scheduling such a game. Most teams are scared to put Haywood on their schedule. Not Lake county!  Both are fine programs that have a long winning tradition. The massive student body difference between the 2 programs is going to be way to much for the Falcons to overcome. The Tomcats dress about half the student body of Lake county! That's crazy!

Hopefully it is a clean, injury free game for both schools.

Haywood - 45

LC - 14

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
