Lake County at Haywood - Thursday night

I’ve seen various predictions that favor Haywood anywhere between 28 to 35 points.  Tomcats, it is you, not the prognosticators, who play the game on the field.

Those predictions will only motivate Lake County.  The Falcons will give it all they’ve got from beginning to end  Don’t get complacent Cats.  Stay focused and disciplined!

Very successful football program. Haywood County is the best program in West Tennessee. I hope they get that gold ball. That is all they like.

Thanks!  I can't help but be reminded of a thread in the 1A-2A forum back in the summer.  Although it's not my opinion, the general consensus was Haywood does not rank within the top five programs in West Tennessee because Haywood does not have that gold ball.

Lake County has a great program and y'all have three state championship trophies to prove it. Good luck tonight.  I'm praying for a clean injury-free game and safe travels for all.

Last region loss was 2018 against Dyersburg. From 2015 to current we’ve lost 1 region game in 7 years

Haywood played  that 2018 game minus several key players due to injury, but a healthy Tomcat team avenged that loss in the state quarterfinals by a score of 48-14.

Glad I wasn’t in that thread, I’m sure I would have got a little aggravated. JCS has a gold ball so I guess they have a better program. Milan has several gold balls, and even though they tried running with the big boys in 4a having almost no success while just trying to avoid Alcoa, has a better program. Lake county has a gold ball, guess we better not even show up tonight.

That thread definitely aggravated me.  In terms of recent success and consistency,  I don't think anybody (gold ball or not) can argue against Haywood being one of the most successful programs in rural West Tennessee over the past 6 or 7 years.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
