My nephew goes to school with Carson Gentle at McCallie and he mentioned him to me a few months ago.  Junior this year and after watching him wrestle he looks to be a handful.  I've never seen Stutts wrestle but have heard good things.

Gentle impressed last year @ 220 as a sophomore.  Howard is gone, but #2, #3, and #4 from state tournament are all back this year.  Stutts went to Preps last year but I'd have to check to see how he did.  I know Howard placed 3rd at the event last year.

The problem with the 285lb guys in Tennessee is they don’t know how to take a shot.  It’s basically a pushing match and trying to snap someone into a front headlock. When they wrestle someone that has a true offense they rarely know how to defend a shot.

There are 2 heavies this year I know can take good shots and can defend them. They're a little undersized at HWT and were lighter weight kids who grew into the HWT class this season.

I think Tennessee has been blessed with some super athletic heavyweights in years past, I think back to Patrick Benson, then Bruno Reagan, Boykin, Sammy Evans, Kramer, Coffey and then last year we had Howard and Davis. I don't see any heavyweight in the state this year nearly as dominant as those guys, but I could be wrong.

You're not wrong, you've seen the best 3 we have this year IMO all from our side of the state.

Who would those 3 be?  Some of the guys on Pin-Tn haven’t competed yet because of weight.  I am assuming Wolfe is one of the lighter guys.

Coffey was/is a genetic freak.  Not fair to be that big AND have a 6 pack!

Wolfe, Redford, & McDonald. Wolfe beat McDonald 3-2 last week in a close one.

You're right about Coffey, that guy's lats were so wide I couldn't see around him!

    • Congratulations to Huntingdon and Station Camp. Lots of good softball in Tennessee. Alcoa been media favorite last two seasons.
    • Im more of a Basketball follower than football and like I said we play what we have, there is no going and recruiting or even talking kids into transferring…..and to rebut about Memphis teams in finals I’ve watched Memphis East and Penny Hardaway with the enrollment of a single A team play up and dominate any and all challengers for years! They aren’t the only ones either Mike Miller and son at Germantown put together that super team a couple years ago that ran through the rest of the state! Other teams from Memphis or Chatt or Nash or any large populated area pop up and are relevant out of nowhere every year because they get an influx of talent be it from a new coach or AAU affiliations it happens in football also just like any other sport! I hope these two schools that close join together and get to play the team you support, then you may see it differently! I find it funny some of you think recruiting and resources don’t matter . The county schools get very little funding also but you don’t want to get me started on that part!
    • In a total classless move, Coach Simmons once again shows his true colors. Waits till the day after school is out to let everyone know he is leaving. Fails up to a community college job after a lackluster 2 year span at GH. And do not tell me about the state run that saved a sub .500 season and plenty of whippings by Cookeville and Lebanon.  Looks like the girls job at GH is cursed. Terrible MS program/coaches feeding what is turning out to be a joke of a HS team.
