Hampton vs Pickett Co

How do they match up?

Pickett is very talented but soooooo young.  I think they are a year away from a ball or two.  But they have the players.  Great PG,  couple nice bigs in the paint,  shooters,  good at getting to the rim, etc  They have the pieces but most of them are 9-10th graders.   I am pulling for them but it will be tough.

Pickett Co. played the 2nd toughest schedule. Hampton the 62nd. But PC's first six players are 2 freshmen, 2 sophomores and 2 juniors. If they don't do it this year, they'll be back for several years. This is PC's 6th trip in 9 years.

Hampton starts 2 seniors, 2 juniors, and a sophomore.   While their schedule may have been weaker,  Hampton is still a formidable opponent.  They will never come out of the press.

Hampton is rough and tough. That's the way they raise them in mountain country. Both games with South Greene started out with Hampton way behind. Hampton girls didn't lose their poise and came back to win both.

Lots of fouls so far.  Hampton has 3 starters with 3 each at halftime.

Lots of fouls on Hampton isn't unusual with their style of play. We'll see what adjustments are made at the half.
