And he would have benefited greatly from it...25 footers were almost unheard of minus the three point line, but never bothered him to jack one up!

TSSAA has the stat records for championship games! Most points is Tyreke Key with 54 in 2017. Trey Pearson with 50 in 2001. Kenyon Torry had 48 in 2008. Mike Rhodes had 48 as well in 1977. Next is all the way in 1952, Buddy Cruze had 47. Mike Rhodes had 46 in 1977, 35 being in one half! Points are nice but my favorite is Jack Browder with 30pts and 14 reb in last years championship. This also may be my bias showing.

Mike Rhodes scored 48 without a 3 point line being available

Yeah he used to shoot downtown too. Yeah I was at the game he lost in the Region in 1985 at Gibson County in the Region semis to Humboldt on a last second shot. I am thinking that was the only game he lost in the 85 and 86 seasons.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
