mac-yac2I don’t know what it was referred to before MAC if it was even anything; I think it was just an unorganized mess, but anyway, I found this picture through much research I found this, but you can clearly see him on the very right, so I don’t know why his parents would do that, but they did.

Pick on kids on a high school sports message board... wow..... TOTAL LOSER!

They’re all adults now. I’m sure they’ve said much worse to each other. But go ahead and pat yourself on the back for helping people that don’t need it or want it. I’m sure that makes you feel better. I’ll let you get back to enjoying your month now.

Whether you like to admit it or not, Oakland High School has been running 6A for the past few years, winning 4 out of the last 5 state championships. There’s always been one team to battle it out with Oakland, and that’s Maryville High School. The only other team that won a state championship in the last five years, however, I think there’s a new giant in 6A, and that’s Bearden High School in Region 2, yes, the same region as Maryville. Bearden High School is on the rise with an outstanding young class. Bearden is a very young team, but it does have some outstanding seniors as well. Purdue commits ATH Jaheim Merriweather in the backfield, along with ATH Sam Tummins, who has received interest from numerous coaches but only holds one offer as of right now from the University of Charlotte, is among many other seniors, including Cody Clough and Mugisha Ironside, who should also have a very big senior season. Moving on to junior third-year quarterback Drew Parrott, who looks to have a breakout season but may have solid competition with Seymour transfer Madden Guffey pulling it to compete for the quarterback battle for the upcoming season, Another junior who is soon to catch a lot of names and eyes is LB/RB. Kai Ironside, who transferred in from McCallie last season, had a big impact on the rushing game. With him switching to linebacker full-time for his junior season, he looks to have a breakout season at linebacker. Another junior who deserves a lot of attention is noseguard Boston Yeager, who stands at an intimidating 6'4 and 285 pounds, will have no problem filling the shoes of a very good defensive line last season and, last but not least, one of the best centers in Knoxville. Isaiah Harvey, who has received interest from multiple colleges and coaches, is another guy to keep an eye out on, moving onto sophomores. That’s where it gets fun talking about Bearden at 6'1 and 160. Chaz Smith , who has already received offers from Michigan, Louisville, Kentucky, Florida, and Arkansas, just to name a few, He is becoming one of the best defensive backs in his class (26). Moving onto the other side of the field as a DB, Keshawn Mills is starting to get a lot of attention from coaches and should be a guy to keep an eye on in the near future. Moving to the defensive line, sophomore Ethan Hill, who played some varsity last season as a freshman, will look to continue this for his sophomore season. He’s a guy to keep an eye on in the near future, moving onto offense. 26’ RB Jayzon Thompson, who has already received offers from the University of Miami, Ohio, and the University of Memphis, as well as interest from many other D1 colleges, He should have no problem running the ball for the next few years before moving on to the man with the key to the offense. Seymour transfer Madden Guffy, who has already received multiple looks from coaches, will look to battle it out with the two-year starter. Drew Parrot moving onto the line. Ton Brazelton, who stands at 6'3 and 315 pounds, should have no problem defending whichever quarterback wins the starting job, moving onto receivers. Tory Beaufort, who already has an offer from eastern Kentucky, may be the smallest player on the field. Standing at 5’8, he sure does play with the biggest heart on the field, and it is hard to bring him down, especially in open space. Another receiver to keep an eye on is Grant Cross, with these two holding already as sophomores by their senior year, they should have no problem leaving the defensive back in the dust. They also have some very good middle school coming in, which should have an immediate impact on varsity, receiver Tyler Thompson will look to live up to his brothers. Great legacy he’s had at Bearden, and Terry Beaufort, brother of 26’ WR Tory Beaufort, will continue his and his brothers' great journey at Bearden High School!

So that should give you an idea of why I and many other people think Bearden is the team of the future in 6A. They will still have to get past Oakland, which is no easy component, and play in Region 2 with teams like Bradley Central and Farragut and Maryville. It will be no easy task to make it past any of them but with this roster and second-year coach Josh Jones, who has already proven he means business. The dogs could be the team of the future in 6A.

Maryville has beaten more talented teams than Bearden on their way to a state championship. Talent is just one factor. Until they beat Maryville, when it counts its just a bunch of hot air

If you look at the scrimmage with Clinton this spring you can have all of these weapons on offense but you need o-line to block. That was a big problem last year and also against Clinton this spring. If it was not for a quick whistle the BHS QB would have been sacked multiple times or possibly injured. He also had to run for his life last year. Many people have commented on the T that if BHS gets the o-line fixed/ straightened out/ what ever you want to call it they will be dangerous/ high powered/ what ever you want to call it. It seems like that is BHS biggest challenge. If they get it done seems really hard. One o-line coach has already left to coach at Fulton and my sources have told me he had the most experience at the high school level coaching line. I will be watching on diamond clear if they can get it fixed.

Spring scrimmages aren't reality.

Just saying.

Good point, but the one thing that is closest to a real game in scrimmage is the trenches, and Bearden did not look good on the offensive side, and if that’s against Clinton High School, who respectfully is not really a power house, and Bearden takes in 3 or 2 (Ac probably won’t be the same team they were), but 2 powerhouses at the beginning of the season, West and Alcoa both having DE’s, which you need to have 2 men on, it’s not looking pretty now. Bearden does have a college-level coaching staff and one of the greatest offensive minds in Tennessee who is currently coaching as their head coach, along with an offense Coach who should be a head coach, so I’m sure they will figure things out, but it won’t be easy. But when they do, if they do, I’m going to imagine it’s going to be very fun to watch that running game and very not fun to play against them.

Not just basing what l said on the spring scrimmage. The O-line was also bad last year with the QB running for his life most of the time. You would think that there would be some improvement in the spring. But the schedule will prove if the o-line is better than the spring or last year. The film doesn't lie.

And this year‘s offensive line is going to be much younger. I know Brody Smith, he just got a Tennessee offer. He was pretty good at the scrimmage, as was the guy next to him, #53. I don’t know his name, but apparently he’s a sophomore. He’s a big fella, and he looked pretty good, so the left side is pretty good. I doubt they will even struggle this year, but the center was very off, and now Bearden’s QB is very short, but still, you should learn that at practice. The poor QB kept having to jump for it, but I don’t think he’s the starting center, so maybe the starter is better. Actually, I think he's better. much better, but he wasn’t playing at the scrimmage game, I think because of an injury, but on the right side, that’s where stuff gets bad. Their timing was off; they either jumped way too early or way too late. They could never properly hold down a good block, but I don't know; I’m sure that's stuff the coaching staff will have to manage over the off-season. Let’s hope they can do it, and I’m not dissing Bearden. I hope the best for Bearden because I’m tired of seeing Maryville, but that’s beside the point. I think I would imagine that Bearden goes out and gets another O-line transfer, which wouldn't surprise me, heck, they may already have gotten one.

Big E sounds like you want to make a big splash on The T with a lot of bold statements. But the Facts say you are wrong. Football players from Bearden have transferred to Farragut many times. Graig Gray, Earnest Hartsell, the Washington brothers, and one really good RB from Farragut transferred to Bearden just to name a few. The RB has the distinction of scoring the winning TD in two BHS vs Farragut games. He scored the winning TD for Farragut his sophomore year and the winning TD for Bearden his Senior year. Who was that player Big E. I know his name.

BigTime I can tell you're an older follower of Knox Co football but some of the names don't ring a bell from the Farragut perspective. Of course Hartsell came over in 1989 to help FHS win a district title along with Jason Price and Adam Priest. But Hartsell set a pipe bomb off in a locker that spring that got him in serious trouble. The other names, Gray? Washington's? must have been from way back in the day because I go back to 1974 but I don't know everything. The trivia question would be referring to the Chris Morrison kid back in the mid 90s, but he wouldn't have scored the winning TD as a sophomore in 1994 when FHS won 23-7 in a game they never trailed. He moved to Bearden the next year and beat FHS as a senior when BHS won 12-8.
