Looks like TCA has made some big strides already. As others have said this USJ coaching staff has been super impressive with what they’ve got going with this squad. Very exciting. I think the Bruins will have too much overall team size and speed for the Lions in the end and are probably like a 9 point favorite. USJ’s defense has been tough since the first snap of the season , and their offense found some things in the second half of the Union City game.
#1 for TCA is a beast though and so is the receiver. Lions will make some plays I bet. Real weapons on Windy City! Expecting a great game and lights out performances from both teams ;)

Nine points! The gritty Bruins grind out another one. Lots of stuff to work on, but this is my favorite USJ team in a while. 300 yards rushing for the Bruins. #5 ran brilliantly, and #1 had some fine runs as well. O line was getting push all night and getting blocks downfield too. Nice to see the passing game has turned a corner.

TCA played their butts off too. Much improved Lions squad this year.

I feel like that's the closest TCA could've gotten. TCA's touchdowns were fluky and came from when the bruins shot themselves in the foot. Also USJ's line destroyed TCA but ultimately TCA showed a lot of heart and they will continue to get better. Bruins move to 3-0

Congratulations to USJ on the win. Spencer and your line played well. I will respectfully disagree that the TCA scores were flucky though. I wonder how the game would have changed had we not been stopped on downs inside the five on on possession and fumbled on the 20 on another when we were drving. Never the less, its just candy and nuts. USJ earned the victory.  On to region play.  The real prize hunt begins next wek next week.

That's a really asinine remark but typical USJ.  That game could have gone either way.  There were several instances when USJ players should have been flagged for shoving after the whistle.  A lot of unsportsmanlike incidents.  The last time a ref crew actually called all of that behavior they had to be escorted out of the stadium by law enforcement.  Sooner or later another ref crew will not tolerate it either.

Blah blah blah. This is a “rivalry” game and both teams get up for it. I’ve had a kid on the field for the better part of a decade. There’s jawing on both sides and playing to the echo of the whistle. I didn’t see anything outrageous on either side, and plenty of penalties called to keep things from escalating. I also saw a kickoff fielded with a knee on the ground that resulted in a TD and several other very iffy calls. I thought TCA fought hard and their play calling was excellent, particularly in the first half. But in reality, if USJ avoids dumb penalties (false starts, illegal shift) and their special teams were halfway competent this is at least a 3-4 TD game.

Of course there were missed calls on both sides. For the most part, I thought the game was well officiated. My only grip was when a USJ tackler ripped one of our kids helmets off in front of the USJ bench. TCA was flagged on the same play for a hold and USJ was not. Should of been off setting penalties. There was no question when looking at the replay in the booth but still missed by the stripes. You listed some "ifs" that had USJ accomplished those things it would of been a 3-4 score USJ win. Well let's  look at a few of the other "ifs". We can both agree that if USJ does not hold TCA on 4th down late in 2nd inside the 5, TCA scores and its a tie game. Then, after holding y'all on downs, we move down field and score. Even with the missed xpt, TCA would of lead at the half. "if" we don't fumble on the 30 earlier in the qtr after a huge reception, it's likely we would have scored as TCA was moving down the field easily on a drive. Those two "ifs" go the way of TCA, we go into the half with a 2 score lead instead of being down by a point. "If" TCA does not jump off sides on 4th down when you were going to punt, your third score does not happen and we still lead. Assuming the rest of the second half plays out like it did, then TCA would have won the game. Neither your "ifs" or mine happened and the game ended the way it did. In HS football, "ifs" are played out in forums by washed up folks like you and I. USJ executed their game plan well for the most part, your offensive line opened up holes for your RB to get 200+ yards.  Y'alls  defensive scheme holds our back to only 82 yards on the night.

In my opinion, TCA was their own worse enemy with all the missed tackles on the night along with not punching in a score inside the 5. Throw in a turnover deep inside Bruin territory on a drive where we might have scored.... You see where Im going with this. The bottom line is that you won by what you did. If our "ifs" go our way, we win the game but that didn't happen. Sadly, "ifs" dont count for you or I. By the way, you may have been right about the KO return. He gave the "appearance" of the knee touching the ground but the replay was not conclusive. Ref was close and didnt make the call you desired so I assume the ref who had a better  angle and was closer got it right. Appearances can be deceiving but I can see your point.

I give you guys credit, you played better than I thought you would. Y'all  have certainty earned the right to be 3-0.

Dude your biggest fan on here went out of his way in his “game film breakdown” of USJ this week to say much worse than “fluky.” Being triggered over the word “fluky” isn’t a good look.

As far as the PI and unsportsmanlike like stuff I wasn’t at your game but there are some programs that have players do that stuff. Last week we had opposing players curse around an 80 year old woman who works the player gate, yell at fans at halftime, wave at fans during the game, and overall show bad sportsmanship routinely this season including punching other players and lewd conduct that was simply speechless. Some programs just have a culture of stuff like that nowadays.

Notice my ifs were USJ mental mistakes, not “momma he won’t quit touching me”. See the difference between self-reflection and excuse-making?

You know, I have tried to be respectful to ya'll on this thread.  Instead of responding in a respectful manner, you choose to respond with snide little comments. We should be able to come here and have a civil discussion about a game. It's even ok that we have differing opinions on certain aspects of said game. I can  see some validity in some points you brought up. Wish it could be returned in kind. I prefer those type discussions.

I hope your injured players recover quickly. One in particular showed much heart and courage with his play considering his injury. I respect that.

Good day.

Just watched the replay of the kickoff return.  Knee was not down!  Not even close.  Don’t guess that “if” qualifies!
