I played for Coach Lussier when he was DC @ OR, and he never taught me that, nor did I ever hear him teach anybody that. *shrugs* Bruce was/is a class act.

I know Coach Lussier from way back when he was at both Farragut and Halls. Not saying he was not a high class guy, and l know he was a good D-coordinator.

Sweet is so dang kind to everyone. Thanks this one and that one and now “we are 3-0” but go back and read the last few years and he called it like he saw it. Who has OR played thus far? Or this Friday for that matter? If OR isn’t in the semi’s for at least the next 2 years, they made a mistake. For real. Absolutely ridiculous. Enjoy tho SweetScience, probably won’t last long.

I'll give you this year should be a playoff run but they will lose all of their stud athletes after this year.

OR guy talking about chop blocking. Coach Lussier taught his LBs and DEs to take the legs out of any O lineman coming to kick them out or any FB to iso block them. That is a penalty also almost never called. I don't know if Coach Minor at HVA was taught that by Coach Lussier but he has tought his LBs/DEs to do the same things to Linemen/FB. I guess you get back what you give.

Please tell me what do you suggest a guy should do when a kick out is coming at you low and aiming to put their shoulder on your thigh to kick you out? Just stand there and take it? Offenses already have every rule in their favor these days, why even play defense?

I said what I said

You’re an idiot. McMinn probably leads the state in penalties year in and year out. This whole McMinn “gets calls” is bogus. If you are looking for a built in excuse because you are afraid of how the game could go then go ahead. McMinn and Oak Ridge have played close games for sure. I’ll be pulling for the Cherokees to pull it out but my honest opinion is Oak Ridge takes this one. McMinn is a little down this year although I’ll say they have been showing much improvement from beginning of the season. I just hope for a  good game and hopefully it will be officiated to your liking lol

Don't care a bit about the outcome of the game. Have no dog in the race at all. Just stating facts from the past. Maybe things have changed now. The officiating won't matter in the game OR has too much firepower, just was warning the fans that will be at the game to be ready.

“Facts” yeah right. Again we are probably the most penalized team in the state lately. A few I dispute also. You can say facts all you want. Your opinion doesn’t make something a fact

Hopefully an injury free ballgame tonight! I’m trying to remember the guy’s name you mentioned in an earlier comment that’s getting commemorated tonight before the game? Do you happen to know what years he helped coach @ OR? Safe travels to the game to you and everyone else!

When you say probably is that a fact or opinion?

Exactly. It’s my opinion that we get bad calls from time to time. That doesn’t make it a fact. Maybe the only fact is is all schools get bad calls go against them. But to say we have some sort of conspiracy to fix games is just untrue

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
