Cherokee’s and Cats met in the playoffs last year, and OR won a tough, hard hitting, tightly contested ballgame. Who takes the 2023 tilt between the two?

As a mcminn  fan I'd love to say the kees would win, but they are kind of down this year with fewer seniors Than normal, I don't think it will be close as last year. But I think it'll be a good game between the two. I think they final score will be akin to something like

Mcminn 20

Oak ridge 28

OR should win this one by 14+. McMinn relies heavily on the run game and I feel like that's what OR is the best at stopping. McMinn hasn't thrown the ball much this year. Oak Ridge will load the box and shut them down.

I say Oak Ridge wins 28-7 somewhere in that neighborhood.

Looking like we know what we have on defense. Each big game will come down to how the young QB plays. We need him to be a lot better than what he was at Karns.I think he will have a great career but will go through the ups and downs this year.If we block then its a lock on what Dozier will do.This should be another physical close Oak Ridge vs McMinn game

You should check out the bar by the same name in OR. Highfalutin place no doubt. I agree OR should win by at least 2 TDs. as long as they give the ball to 22 and 3 thirty times between the two of them.

Lol @ high falutin. I guess if you consider The Jefferson Tavern high falutin.

Hey SS don't be putting down "The Worlds Famous Jefferson Tavern" too much .  That Dump is a Class Joint!!  haha  Been there many times in the past. I remember when Green's Cycle shop was next door.

Think the Cats will shine this week . Cut out mistakes .. interceptions and  penalties!  Run the ball, run the ball and then give to #30 and run it again and if that ain't enough give it to #34 a time or two. Course gotta throw it around some to keep the Injuns honest

Me and MaMa Bounder will be there if nothin bends or breaks.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
