SP typically doesn’t embarrass Gordonsville. If we play I’d expect a competitive game like always.

I remember that. The lights went out. Eye of the tiger was blaring. When the lights came on, you guys were on the field going crazy. I don't think we ever recovered after that.

Yep. Good night for us. Unfortunately we got beat by Greenback the next week

 

Really thought we would go back to back in 87 and 88 but lost to the eventual champion in the semis both years

Also just out of complete curiosity, what team does the SP faithful consider to be their best ever ? 
 

Been a ton of really good teams and some great teams over the years but I was curious which one is thought be on another level of good?

Well considering there have been 5 more state championship teams at SP, this 94 team has to have something that stands out

That 2007 team was NASTY. They were up by like 50 in the finals.
