Video according to whom?

That alleged story seems to become more embellished every time it's attempted to be told.

When a team takes the field pre-game chanting its F_ _ _ _ _ _  game time then there is a serious internal issue. Not to mention chanting F McMinn at half. Not saying McMinn is the perfect angel but Powell will never be on McMinns schedule again after next year unless its in the playoffs.

Was the late hit on the runner a penalty of course it was but to eject the player was excessive. The white hat let the entire game get out of control from the beginning. First play of the game which was the KO he called a block in the back then comes running towards the McMinn sidelines yelling at the player saying "I will not tolerate those kind of plays"!! You could hear him from the stands. He was an embarrassment to his fellow officials as he seemed to want to be the center of attention instead of allowing the game to be.

Powell has a good team and has been good for many years but Friday night was a bad look.

Funny that only a select few seemed to have seen or heard this alleged chant.

And it's funny that no other teams have heard that at Powell in the past.

The white hat came running to your coach because your coach had come out of the box to the 15 yard line.

You need to tell the Paul Harvey.

Stop the toddleresque whining already.

Hopefully we can talk about this without getting another thread locked/deleted.

I read that quote in the Athens paper over the weekend, and I don't think Coach Lowe is going to lose any sleep over that decision. I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual.

Coach Cagle said some things to an Athenian reporter that were pretty childish, IMO, but he certainly has a right to say what he said. Right, wrong, or indifferent, he's going to protect his kids/staff/team and put 100% of the blame on the opponent, so I shouldn't be shocked by some of his post-game comments. That said, I would challenge Coach Cagle to take ownership of what ensued on Friday night, because this wasn't a one-sided affair, and anyone who was at the game knows what I'm talking about. But only if they're willing to take off their fan-colored glasses.

I've stayed out of this because I wasn't physically at the game. I've seen some of the film, and I did talk to a number of people who were there, mostly homers. But I also talked to a friend who attended, who happens to be a retired official unaffiliated with either school. I've heard a number of stories, but I trust his judgement in this situation because he didn't have a horse in the race. Sounds like there was plenty of blame to go around, but he admitted that things were chippy/physical throughout, and the officiating crew didn't do a great job of setting the "tone" early in the game. He also said that the ejection late in the game was a bit harsh, but given what had been happening up to that point, it was warranted (in his opinion) and probably should have happened earlier in the game.

He also thought that Coach Lowe was sending a message when he told his QB to take a knee at the end of Powell's last drive; they bled 7+ minutes off of the clock and likely could've ended the game with the ball, but he chose to kneel on their final 4 plays and gave the ball back to McMinn County with just over a minute left. I don't know if he was just trying to calm tensions and/or protect his offensive players, but in hindsight, that decision was probably a mistake. What seemed to reignite everything was what happened on McMinn County's ensuing drive. The game wasn't out of reach, so I don't blame McMinn County for trying to score, but tempers flared on that final drive. That probably led to everything that happened post-game (he didn't stick around after the game ended).

I can't speak to the post-game shenanigans, but if there is video evidence of fans (adults) assaulting players (minors), as you alleged, that would be a pretty big news story. Wouldn't it? I'll hang up and listen.

From what I was told, the reporter never attempted to get any quotes from the Powell side on Cagle's charges.  That's irresponsible journalism.

Like I said, there is a PauL Harvey that is being ommitted by those making unsubstantiated claims.

And neither side acted like choirboys, no matter what some want us to believe.

The game happened 4 days ago. Both have region championships to play in 2 days. Need to let it go and move on.

Who told u that HIV? Terry? You see ole Bill you are nothing but a clown. A thousand people could tell you something happened but you won’t believe it. It really doesn’t matter to me if you do or not. Move on and quit acting as you need to answer everyone’s post defending Powell. You’re a clown Bill

Getting things back on topic, this should be a great game, and I expect we'll see a rematch in a few weeks.

I think West wins a close game, but Powell has a shot. The Panthers are playing some of their best football of the season right now.

I hope West wins in a close one but for whatever reason I have this feeling Powell wins comfortably, again hope im wrong.

I agree this will be the first meeting of 2 but the location hinges on this huge matchup.

Hoping for a great game!

Go Rebels!

Just curious, but why do you think they win comfortably?
