Two of the most talented 2A teams I've seen were Marion 2021 and Trousdale 2018-9. I would've bet both were headed to a championship but neither won it. Your football knowledge is on full display when you say Forrest out coached Marion and the 2023 Marion had more talent than 2021. Your kid has to be on the 2023 team to wear those purple colored glasses.

21 marion was 10x better than the last TWO years, end of discussion

You two love birds trying to double team me know? Kinfolks I don’t swing that way.

I stand by both previous statements I made in season. Marion should have lost to Forrest this year due to coaching not due to talent and the last two years the Marion teams have had twice the athletes and talent as 21 team. The difference is these teams imo are that they come across as soft but that has more to do with the leadership up top than it does the talent and the kids. No I do not have a kid on Marion’s team. By all means you two can continue to dissect my comments down and argue amongst yourselves. No offense here but a Forrest fan would not know what good football looked like if it hit them in the face. I am just keeping it real.

Region 5 Waverly will only have one senior unless something changes. We should be very good in two years. I would say Loretto from Region 5 should be the favorites with that big sophomore QB they got.

The 2A to 3A and 3A to 4A changes in the next class cycle will make the classes look different in 2025 and beyond.

Forrest will have the talent to challenge Marion in R4. This coaching hire will be HUGE. People will be shocked at how much Stephenson underachieved the last 2 seasons when a real coach gets these kids.

Does Forrest have a frontrunner yet for HC? or have they hired already? i may have missed it.

    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with county’s with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
    • It will be interesting to see if the Warren County School District allows this to go before a jury or they settle out of court before going to trial.  My guess is that this case never goes to trial.  If this goes before a jury, they could award even more than the $750K.  I was on a jury where they were asking for 185K and were awarded 1.2 million.  You never know what will happen in that jury room.
